We are looking for an Intern – Financial Analysis and Modelling. The purpose of the role is to learn how to run and develop project finance models for infrastructure projects. The intern will support the finance function in its endeavor to determine the financial viability of projects and raise debt finance and equity for the projects.

The role could, if the circumstances are right, lead to full-time employment as Financial Analyst – Modelling.

PRIMARY AND SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Specify the primary objectives and task this role includes

  • Worked in MS Excel with financial modeling including financial forecast, debt modeling, NPV, IRR, DCF, terminal value, payback period, and cash flow break-even points, etc.
  • Be up to date on macroeconomic data such as debt cost (interest rates, swap rates, etc)
  • Work in other software to process and visualize data – i.e. PowerQuery, PowerBI, Tableau, Python, etc.
  • Participate in the financial planning for the projects the company is working on.
  • Run sensitivity analyses
  • Present the outcome to the leadership and recommend options to improve capital expenditure handling and debt structuring.
  • Be up to date on USGAAP, tax incentives, applicable taxes, and both operation and capital gain.
  • Work closely with your senior leadership and develop as an internal business partner

Core competencies – both technically and culturally competent, 

  • Numerical and analytical – understand data and how to analyze it. Proficient in tools like Excel, PowerQuery, PowerBI, Tableau, and Python, to model and present data
  • Knowledge of financial analysis including an understanding of such terms and ability to calculate: IRR, NPV, DCF, terminal value, payback period, and cash flow break-even points
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in modeling the amortization of debt, debt payment, interest calculations, upfront fees, etc.
  • Proficient in USGAAP
  • Knowledge of taxes, tax calculations, and how to find relevant information on tax incentives
  • Proficient in Google Workspace, MS 365, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
